The culture I have chosen to talk to you about today is Scottish. I chose to talk about Scotland because my backround is Scottish and my grandparents are from Scotland. In 1955 my uncle Daniel and my papa came to live in Canada to work and buy a house. In 1957 my nana and my garandma came to Canada to live with my uncle Daniel and papa. Soon after everyone in my family followed. Most people in Scotland speak English, but another language that is spoken in Scotland is Gaelic. Some dances in Scotland are highland and Scottish country dancing. In Scotland there are some very good foods like, haggis which is made from oatmeal, onion and suet. Another traditional meal is mince and tatties,it is made with ground beef, carrots, onion, and potatoes.Fish and chips is anther popular meal.Two desserts that are eaten in Scotland are shortbread cookies and triffle. Lakes in Scotland are called lochs. One famous lake is Loch Ness. The Loch Ness Moster was named after it. - MR
