Your Modernized Fairy Tales

Here are some of your modernized fairy tales. Mr. Knierim will attempt to get the films, slide shows, and music videos up as soon as possible. I've really been enjoying the quality of work and the diversity of media forms used to retell these very old tales.
I'll keep working on photographing your work as well.

Samples of Medieval Village Homes for Inspiration

Hey there fabulous Grade Fours! Here are some pictures of Medieval village homes (the same ones you are in the process of constructing) from students at Bowmore P.S. I thought you might enjoy seeing how other students made their cardboard structures more realistic. Believe it or not, the little stones in the second photo were made by raisons painted grey. I'm enjoying your work already and I know that each of you will do something equally creative. Keep up the great work!
Sincerely,
Ms. Hawkins

Medieval Thong!

Hmmm .... Do you know what a Medival Thong IS? In our Medieval times book, it says, "Edgar's grandfather pulled a small leather pouch on a thong and from under his tunic and carefully placed it on his knee." We were very surprised by seeing the word thong because we know the word thong to mean something different these days.
So now do you now know what it means?

Flat Stanley/Flat Kristy

Find an explanation of these pictures at the bottom of this post.
Flat Kristy strikes a pose at Niagara Falls.
Ms. Hawkins 1's daughter Eden shows Flat Kristy the Falls.
Flat Kristy by the guest book at the greenhouse in Niagara Falls.

Here are pictures of "Flat Kristy," a drawing of a grade 6 student from Australia. She has been across the Pacific Ocean and was mailed to Ms. Hawkins' parents last week. Ms. Hawkins and her sister (Ms. Hawkins 1) took Flat Kristy to Niagara Falls, where she got caught in a strong breeze and vanished. We are making a new Kristy and will send her off on her next adventure in England.
